Dr. Ariel Berlinski is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and a Pediatric Pulmonologist at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Dr. Berlinski serves as Medical Advisor for Respiratory Care Services and as Associate Director of the Arkansas Children's Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Center.
Dr. Berlinski received his medical degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1989. He completed his residency training in Pediatrics at the Hospital de Niños Pedro de Elizalde in 1994 and Long Island College Hospital at Beth Israel Medical Center in 2004. He completed Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital in 1998.
Dr. Berlinski is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology and he currently meets requirements for maintenance of certification.
He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics/Arkansas Chapter/Pulmonology Section, Arkansas Medical Society, International Society for Aerosols in Medicine, American Association of Respiratory Care, Latin-American Pediatric Pulmonology Society, and Society for Pediatric Research.
Ariel Berlinski, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Pulmonology Division at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine and researcher at the Arkansas Children's Research Institute. He is also a staff Pediatric Pulmonologist at Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH), where he serves as a Medical Director to the Department of Respiratory Care Services and Director of the ACH Cystic Fibrosis Care Center. Dr. Berlinski is the founding Director of the Pediatric Aerosol Research Laboratory at ACRI. The mission of the laboratory is to help improve aerosol delivery in children through research and education. The main interest of the laboratory is to evaluate how "real life use" of the different aerosol delivery devices affects the amount of drug that is available to be inhaled by the children. Another, important aspect is the evaluation of current practices related to aerosoltherapy in an attempt to optimize their use. Dr. Berlinski served as the Chair of the Pediatric and CF networking group from the International Society for Aerosols in Medicine from 2009 to 2013. Dr. Berlinski is an editorial board member for Respiratory Care and for Journal of Aerosol Medicine and Pulmonary Drug Delivery.
Dr. Berlinski also has a research interest in asthma and Cystic Fibrosis. He has recently lead the efforts to develop a novel way of obtaining spirometry by using telemedicine. Dr. Berlinski also participates as a Principal Investigator in industry-sponsored trials and is the co-Principal Investigator of the Therapeutics Development Network (a national networked focused on Cystic Fibrosis).
Also, Dr. Berlinski enthusiastically contributes to the education of fellows, residents, and students at UAMS by participating in the educational mission of the Department of Pediatrics in many capacities. He has hosted in his lab pediatric pulmonary fellows, medical students, pharmacy students, and respiratory therapist.
