Provide clear supporting documentation for the nominees as described in the following guidelines. Each nomination submitted must follow the required nomination rules and format to be considered for the nomination.

  • Nominations
    • The nomination must be "blinded" meaning the nominee's or team's name is listed only on the Nomination cover form.  The term "the nominee" or "they" should then be used throughout the information provided instead of the nominee's or team's name. No titles such as vice president should be listed in the nomination.
    • Nomination narratives are limited to five pages in reasonable legible type and font. This does not include the cover form.
  • Selection Criteria
    • The nominee/team should have a record of exceptional performance and devotion to service as demonstrated by cooperation, competence, suggestions, special acts, and leadership. They should often exceed the regular requirements of the position always demonstrating Arkansas Children's values and personality traits. The nominee's/ team's work, even if extraordinary, must always follow Arkansas Children's policy, procedures, rules and boundaries when dealing with patients and families.
      • The information provided must include specific information relating to Arkansas Children's Values and Personality Traits. (Please see Champions for Children Nomination Form.)
      • The nominee/team should have a positive effect on others.
      • Team member's/team’s day-to-day performance is dependable, consistent and people oriented.
      • This team member/team should make significant contributions within his/her department and the hospital.
    • Describe how the accomplishments are clearly beyond normal job expectations. Provide data which would include outcomes such as improvement in care, resources or money saved, the number of patients or employees impacted, ways productivity was impacted, etc.
    • Include information on the nominee’s/team’s ability to motivate employees, examples of problem-solving and other pertinent job skills and successes in dealing with job-related situations and service recovery.
    • List any known recognition for special acts, suggestions, superior performance or special awards received by nominee/team.
    • List any formal training or other education that has improved the nominee’s/team’s efficiency or job skills.
    • List any volunteer services and actual service performed for individuals, groups or organizations.

This Award recognizes those exceptional Champions for Children who consistently exceed expectations in delivering safety, teamwork, compassion and excellence at Arkansas Children's. This recognition is for those individuals/team who by their daily actions embodies our values and attitudes/personality traits and have raised the standards of excellence.
