Priority 3: Realize Our Promise
IMPROVE HEALTH
by providing an exceptional human experience, elevating outcomes and lowering the burden of seeking care.
Realize Our Promise
DELIVER VALUE.
Imagine finding someone who cares about your child as much as you do. Imagine wanting information that makes sense to you. Imagine feeling compassion, and reaching the very best outcome possible.
Lifelong health begins in pregnancy and early childhood. Caring for patients as newborns, toddlers, school-aged children and adolescents impacts their entire health trajectory and follows them through adulthood. Delivering exceptional pediatric care has the power to either reverse or exacerbate the intergenerational adult health issues in our communities.
Core Team Strategies
1
Standardize use of clinical pathways, protocols and evidence-based practice to ensure systemwide consistency in care and more effective coordination with local pediatricians and family physicians.
2
Optimize unit-level resource management focused on reducing the cost of care.
3
Build a patient and provider-driven education and support hub to improve health literacy, understanding of key threats to child health and co-management of pediatric health issues in local communities.
4
Expand care coordination efforts and adult transition programs aimed at improved discharge planning and bridge-to-home solutions, facilitating long-term support plans and ensuring effective care management in adult systems of care.
5
Develop a “friendliest hospital in the country” mentality that is centered on a values-driven culture and builds patient satisfaction, loyalty and improves brand reputation.

About Health
For more than a century, Arkansas Children's has continuously evolved to meet the unique needs of the children and families we serve both inside our walls and out in the community. And the impact has been lifesaving.
J.T.
Jonathan "J.T." Taylor Jr., of Sherwood, knocked down a three-pointer in the second half to tie the game, but shortly after, collapsed on the court. His heart had stopped beating. His coaches and trainers, recently trained by the Arkansas Children's Heart Institute's Project ADAM® (Automated Defibrillators in Adam's Memory) program, saved his life. This training and education program teaches community members the proper way to administer CPR and use the automated external defibrillator (AED) to ensure they are prepared to prevent sudden cardiac death. The AED shocked Taylor's heart back into rhythm.

Being in a hospital can be unsettling for children and their families. At Arkansas Children's, we strive to remove the fear and uncertainty by surrounding our families with extraordinary care that goes beyond medicine.
