The Arkansas Children’s Code of Conduct applies to everyone who works for or on behalf of Arkansas Children’s or its subsidiaries, as well as anyone serving in any role on an AC campus or in an AC facility.

The Code reflects our values of Safety, Teamwork, Compassion and Excellence and supports our mission to champion children by making them better today and healthier tomorrow.

1. We act with integrity. We demonstrate honesty, sound judgment, responsibility and respect in our work and in our interactions with patients, families, colleagues and the community.

2. We follow the law and our policies. We take personal responsibility for understanding and applying the rules that guide our work. We ask questions and seek help when we are unsure.

3. Trabajamos aplicando la seguridad. We follow health and safety guidelines, support a drug-free workplace and speak up about risks or concerns. We contribute to a culture of safety by reducing risk, improving processes and building on what we learn.

4. We protect privacy and confidentiality. We access, use and share sensitive information only as law and policy allow. We are careful with what we see, hear and say, and we use technology and data systems responsibly to safeguard personal, medical and financial information.

5. We treat one another with respect. We expect everyone to communicate professionally, work cooperatively, and support a safe environment. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, or other behavior that compromises physical or psychological safety.

6. Tenemos registros precisos y completos. We ensure that patient care, billing, research and operations records are timely, thorough and truthful.

7. Evitamos los conflictos de interés. We make decisions based on what is best for our patients and the organization, not for actual or perceived personal gain or outside influence.

8. We do not offer or accept improper gifts or favors. We do not offer or accept anything that could create a sense of obligation, influence a decision or appear to compromise our principles or integrity.

9. We use Arkansas Children’s resources responsibly. We use financial, physical, digital and time resources responsibly and to support our mission.

10. We speak up when something is not right. We raise concerns honestly and sincerely and support others who do the same. We participate in investigations and help strengthen a culture of trust. Retaliation is never acceptable.
