Team for Children at Risk
The Team for Children at Risk is a UAMS Department of Pediatrics program that provides clinic-based specialty medical evaluations for children suspected of experiencing abuse or neglect upon referral from investigating agencies or primary care providers.
The Team for Children at Risk is administered by UAMS and located on the Arkansas Children's Golisano Campus, so families have a one-stop-place for care, minimizing trauma to children during recovery. UAMS faculty and staff have undergone specialty training in the field of child abuse pediatrics and provides medical evaluations for children admitted to ACH with concerns of abuse or neglect.
- Clinic-based specialty medical evaluations for children with allegations of abuse or neglect upon referral from investigating agencies or primary care providers.
- Offers training in the medical evaluation for abuse/neglect to other medical providers (residents, fellows and community providers)
- Provides inpatient consultation on cases of suspected abuse/neglect in collaboration with Arkansas Children's social work.
- Participates in collaborative multi-disciplinary team meetings reviewing cases reported to the AR Child Abuse Hotline
