Arkansas Children's Hospital is home to the only pediatric Level One Trauma Center in Arkansas. While we hope that no child needs care from an accident or injury, for the children in Arkansas, there is no better place for them than the Pediatric Level One Trauma Center at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Our surgical services team specializes in providing expert care for children. Anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team bring pediatric expertise and years of experience to each patient's perioperative care.

Surgery Outcomes

By the Numbers

  • Approximately 100% robotic surgeries for common GI conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, weight loss and gallbladder conditions (March 2023 - September 2025)
  • 674 laser procedures performed in clinic for pilonidal disease (June 2023 - September 2025)
  • 411 hernia operations performed

  • The American College of Surgeons Children’s Surgery Verification Program verified ACH as a Level 1 Surgery Center – the highest designation a hospital can receive – for providing excellent quality children’s surgical care

  • ACH is the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in Arkansas
